Richar Emiliano Nogueira, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, has spent his life devoted to mastering the art and achieving his dreams of becoming a world champion. Born in São Carlos, SP, Brazil, in 1996, Richar began his Jiu Jitsu journey at just 13 years old. His introduction to the sport came through a social project led by Mauro Pacifico at Team Bushido, a community-based initiative aimed at providing opportunities for youth in Brazil. This humble beginning set the foundation for Richar’s incredible journey in Jiu Jitsu.
From Social Project to World Champion Aspirations
Richar’s early training in the social project gave him a unique perspective on the power of Jiu Jitsu—not only as a sport but as a pathway to personal growth and achievement. After two years of training at Team Bushido, Richar made the decision to elevate his Jiu Jitsu career by joining Atos and training under Professor Alexandre de Oliveira Lopes (Tattinho). It was here that Richar began to see Jiu Jitsu not just as a hobby, but as a potential career and a way to fulfill his world champion aspirations. His dedication to the art grew as he began to compete more seriously and strive for excellence on the global stage.
Achieving Black Belt and Continuing Success in the U.S.
In 2018, Richar reached a major milestone when he received his black belt from Cicero Costha, one of the top instructors in Brazil. With his black belt, Richar’s commitment to competing and teaching grew even stronger. In February 2020, Richar made the move to San Antonio, Texas, after being invited by Manuel Ribamar and Nathiely de Jesus to train at RPBJJ - Rodrigo Pinheiro Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
